Synopsis
Politiek verslaggever Rachel ontdekt het schandaal van de eeuw als blijkt dat de Amerikaanse regering een mislukte militaire operatie in de doofpot stopt. Ze schrijft een artikel waarin ze de betrokkenheid van de CIA onthult en de naam van een geheim agent bekend maakt. Vrijwel onmiddellijk reageert de Amerikaanse regering met een enorm vertoon van machtsmisbruik. Rachels leven en dat van de mensen in haar omgeving wordt volledig ontwricht. Ze weigert echter toe te geven aan de intimidatie en bedreigingen ten koste van de persvrijheid. Maar als de druk –en het geweld- van de autoriteiten toeneemt, blijkt ook dat Rachels 'principes' niet helemaal zuiver zijn. Hoeveel is ze bereid op te geven voor haar journalistieke ambitie, waarvan ook onschuldigen het slachtoffer worden? Het verschil tussen goed en kwaad wordt steeds onduidelijker naarmate de beerput van leugens, corruptie en moord steeds verder wordt opengetrokken.

Synopsis
Political reporter Rachel discovers the scandal of the century when she finds clues that the American government has covered up a failed military operation. She writes an article outlining the CIA's involvement and the name of one of their operatives. The American government immediately responds with an abusive display of power. Rachel's life, and that of the people around her, is completely disrupted. She refuses to give in to intimidation and threats at the cost of freedom of press. But as the pressure and violence from the government's side increase, Rachel's 'principles' turn out to be not as noble as they appear. How much is she willing to sacrifice for her journalistic ambition, that effects innocent lives as well? The difference between good and evil becomes very unclear as the web of lies, corruption and murder extends...
